Chances are you skipped this small story coming out of Los Altos…
But if you scanned a little deeper into the article there’s a few paragraphs you would find this
Pay attention to that last sentence.
“Councilmembers have said cycling speed records posted to mobile app Strava alarmed them and influenced their decision to support the ordinance.”
Chances are you use Strava.
Chances are you have a few sections that you ride pretty fast.
Have a top 10? KOM?
Good for you! Kudos!
No matter if it’s on a ‘legal’ trail or not is not the debate here.
The debate is not about the Horse People or the Hikers against us.
The fact is, that the people who may or may not ride but do make important decisions that directly effect our riding – and those people are now paying attention. They are watching us.
Strava is no longer a private little app that united us out on the trail.
The debate is about how and if we continue to use Strava.
What do you think?
